I visited Brighton with photographer Nigel Wheal hoping to get some landscape/seascape shots at sunset. Sadly, despite the rain which stopped, it remained overcast for most of our visit. Further west along the beach was a jetty, with the tide just reaching it's peak and the dull overcast day some long exposure shots were the order of the day here. Using a cokin ND filter with a lee filters attachment I added an extra 3 stops to get exposures of 2-3 seconds. I just managed to stop my feet getting wet as a big wave came over the jetty. Luckily for me, I'd just managed the exposure I wanted on this shot.

I have also recently started a new blog, which you can access by clicking the link below. This allows slightly more flexibility than I get with shutterchance. I will still continue to use shutterchance, mainly to view my listed buddies.

nathan hulse: Thanks for your comment Mal, I was inspired by you with this shot. I can't pull of B&W in the same way you manage to.
